The University library remains open from 8-00A.M to 8-00P.M on all working days for purposes of reference and issue and return transactions. On public holidays and Sundays the reference section is kept open between 10-00A.M and 5.00P.M and the issue and return counters do not work on these days.

The Library remains closed on the following holidays: Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanthi,Deepavali,Sankranti,Republic Day and Telugu New Year's Day. Books are issued on borrower tickets. Each B.tech student is given two tickets, each Post-Graduate student three and Research scholars five tickets. Normally the borrower can keep the books for 15 days. If the volumes are not returned within the prescribed period, a penalty of 5 paise per day for each volume will be collected. Reprographic facilities are available on payment of the prescribed fees.

 

                                                             

University Computer Center caters to the computing requirements of all the students, researchers, and faculty of the university. The students of S V U College of Engineering can use the facilities here.

 

                                                           

College Computer Center caters exclusively to the computing requirements of all the students, researchers, and faculty of the S V U College of Engineering.

 

To cater to the immediate requirements of the staff and the students, a Book Bank is maintained in the college. Two books are issued at a time against two cards for a period of one month initially. A good number of magazines are also available besides six dailies. In addition with the aid of the State Government, a large number of text books are available exclusively for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students. The library is kept open continuously for seven hours from 10-00A.M on all working days

The Health Centre is open from 8-30A.M to 10.30A.M and 4.30P.M and 6.30P.M on all working days. On holidays it is open only in the forenoon. On producing the Identity Card, the students can register their names with the centre.

All the routine medicines except a few costly drugs are given free of cost to the students X-ray facilities are available free of cost to the students. Besides admission facilities as in-patients to the sick students, consultant services from the specialists of S.V.R.R Hospital are also available in (a) Medicine (b)Dental Care (c)E.N.T Diseases (d)Opthalmology (e)Surgery.Compulsory annual medical check up will be done to all students once a year at the Health Centre.

The Identity Card is to be produced for each visit to the Centre, without which free medical treatment will not be given.

 

 Students of S.V.University College of Engineering if they are interested can join NSS programmes.They will apply to the programme Officers.NSS Volunteers will have to attend camps in a year during vacations.They also have to work on Sundays and evening hours in order to complete 120 hours during the academic year. the volunteers are provided with refreshments while they work.

 

B.Tech students of S.V.U College of Engineering can join NCC(Air Wing)which is situated in the College premises.The NCC programme consists of 40 parades each of two hours duration in a year.The programme mainly deals with 75% Technical classes and 25% Drill classes. The parades are generally conducted after college hours and also sometimes during Sundays and other holidays. After the successful completion of training for two years in NCC, the cadets are eligible to appear for 'B' Certificate Examination and after the completion of 3rd year of training are eligible to appear for 'C' Certificate Examination. The cadets are provided with refreshments during the parades.

The incentives for NCC candidates are:

Reservation of jobs up to certain percentage Direct entry into the Services(Army,Air Force and the Navy) without prior training The best cadet based on certain merits will be given an amount of Rs1000/-on the Republic Day celebrations.
